We continue to work on de-escalation plans for our various services. Activation staff has started taking small groups of residents up to the 12th-floor outdoor patio and for one on one community walks (not on the Danforth of course!) Our Music Therapist has also started back and is visiting residents in their rooms and performing. Plans are in the work for larger group programs on the floors.
Other services like foot care, hair salon, dentistry, and audiology will roll out later this month. De-escalation plans are in the works for the dining room and new admissions. Thanks to the Nisbet Lodge-McClintock Manor Foundation and our donors the new resident lounge furniture will be going out in connection with the re-opening of the dining room. Not being able to run the Mother’s Day Walkathon and Joint Annual Charity Golf Tournament has meant that the campaign did not hit its target. We will be sending out a special appeal at Thanksgiving asking our community members to help finish off this important project to assist with some of the extraordinary pandemic costs we have faced. I hope we can count on your support!
Family outside visits have been very popular and the weather has really cooperated. The Ministry recently sent out directives allowing for day and overnight outings for residents. Guidelines for this will be sent out next week.
There is a lot of talk about a second wave of COVID during the flu season. We are starting to prepare for this and as an example we now have a 90 day supply of PPE. In closing, as we start to get to what the ‘new normal’ will be, we ask for your prayers to help us all adjust to these changes and that Nisbet and McClintock Manor and in fact our whole City will be spared from the second wave.

Everyone here is devoted to ensuring high-quality professional and compassionate care for every resident of Nisbet Lodge. We also work so that tenants of McClintock Manor enjoy life to the fullest.
To accomplish that, I am privileged to lead a committed and skilled staff. We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers and Board members, and a very significant roster of community partners.
Nisbet Lodge is a charitable, not-for-profit organization, a home that cares for just over 100 seniors. We offer residents accommodation and care that fulfills the needs of today’s seniors, in a Christian environment.
McClintock Manor is an apartment building for seniors who can live on their own. We provide 62 apartments where seniors can live independently in a “good-neighbour community.
The Nisbet Lodge McClintock Manor Foundation exists to support the present and future work of both the Lodge and the Manor. Started in 1993, the Foundation raises funds for capital projects that benefit both the Lodge and Manor.
Your gifts are crucial, as we always must find additional funds to cover many important needs of our residents and tenants. We value every gift and every donor either it is a donation or volunteering.
