The Nisbet Lodge McClintock-Manor Foundation Virtual Heroes Walk 2021When: 2021 May 9 – June 20
Options: 5Km & 1Km
Like many non profits we have had to pause all our fundraising events, because of Covid 19. Even though we have had to put our events on hold, we have to continue our fundraising efforts by finding new fundraising strategies. This year we have decided to change our Annual Mothers Day Walkathon to a virtual walkathon and renamed it Heroes Walk 2021 to remember those we lost to COVID and to honour dedicated front-line workers battling the coronavirus and also acknowledge our residents and staff who endured the challenges of the past year with great courage.
The virtual walkathon is contactless. Which means we will not be congregating at Nisbet Lodge. You can register for the walk by downloading this document, the pledge form and important details about the walk. Complete the registration portion and mail to us at the address below or you can set up your own fundraising page on the Canada Helps website. (click on the fundraising button) If you have any questions regarding the walk, please email email@example.com or call 416 469-1105 ext.1122
Our fundraising goal is to raise $40,000 towards the upgrade of our HVAC System. This upgrade will make a huge difference in air quality for the summer.
I know many will miss our traditional post walk BBQ. We will be celebrating the walk in the Thanksgiving Newsletter including our top pledge getters. Be sure and email us pictures of your walk so they can be highlighted in the newsletter and on our Facebook site.
Sign up and commit to walk 5K or1K (you can run too!)
between May 9 and June 20. Invite your family and friends to join you.
Resident Activity Calendar
The Nisbet Lodge McClintock Manor Foundation was created in 1993 to support the ongoing work of providing housing and care.
The Foundation holds annual special events that improve the quality of life of those seniors who call 740 and 730 Pape Avenue home. Over the years the Foundation has supported a new nurse call system, additional recreation programs and upgrades to the dining room and resident lounges.
To support these projects we host a Mother’s Day Walkathon and Joint Charity Golf Tournament in the spring and in the fall ‘A Little Light Music’s which is a dinner and concert. The music has varied from gospel to classical to community choirs. We also express our appreciation to our donors with a recognition dinner in the winter.
We are always looking for organizations to partner with to support third party events. Together we can make a big difference in the lives of our residents.
All donations qualify for receipts for income tax purposes.
